Nous travaillons à améliorer les aspects sociaux et émotionnels des interactions homme-machine.  Nous développons une plateforme d’Agent Conversationnel Animé  (ACA) interactive : l’agent est autonome, expressif et réagit “en direct” au comportement de l’utilisateur. Notre travail prend donc fortement en compte les caractéristiques de la communication humaine. Nous travaillons tout à la fois à développer les capacités de communications des agents conversationnels et à étudier la communication et le comportement  humains.

Notre recherche est axée sur le développement de  la plateforme d’ACA Greta. Greta est programmée pour  communiquer verbalement, non-verbalement et être socialement attentive et réactive. Elle peut prendre le rôle d’un compagnon, d’un conteur, d’un tuteur virtuel ou de personnages  de jeux.

Greta est intégrée dans la plateforme SEMAINE où elle est équipée de capacités de reconnaissance d’états émotionnels, de traitement de la parole, ou encore de synthèse d’expressions verbales et non-verbales.

Nos projets actuels s’articulent autour des points suivants :

  • la synchronie entre utilisateur et agent ou entre plusieurs agents
  • les comportements de dialogue et d’écoute active (systèmes de dialogues, “backchanneling”, “mimicry”)
  • les compétences émotionnelles et empathiques pour l’ACA
  • les agents sociaux
  • les comportements expressifs multimodaux
  • les gestes expressifs pour les ACAs et les robots humanoïdes
  • l’animation du visage et la dynamique des expressions faciales
  • les agents émotionnels dans les jeux sérieux (“serious games”)
  • la perception d’états mentaux (appraisal, émotion)

Nous sommes impliqués dans les projets européens NoE SSPNet, FET-OPEN ILHAIRE, Reverie, FP7 ICT VERVE, ainsi que dans divers projet nationaux : ANR GV-Lex, ANR IMMEMO, ANR CECIL, Web2.0 My Presenting Avatar, ANIPEV et PlaySerious.

Nous avons participé aux projets européens : CALLAS, SEMAINE, HUMAINE, et aux projets nationaux : ISCC Apogeste, ANR MyBlog3D, RIAM ACE, RIAM LABIAO.
